BENEFITS OF YOGA TO CHILDREN

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Family Yoga

Dates: Sundays: March 24th, April 28th, & May 19th

Time: 2:00PM to 3:00PM

Location: Artemis Yoga, 639 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown, MA 02472

Come explore yoga with your family together!

This family yoga class will teach you and your children flexibility, stability, and calming through breath. Join me for this fun, energetic yet calming opportunity to promote family wellness and to deepen the bond between you and your family members. 

This class is open to all levels and families with kids ages 4 and up (ideally Pre-K to grade 4 or 5. )

Registration fee:

  • $25.00 for 2 family members

  • $10 per additional person

Please register the parent and email liz@artemisyoga.com with names/ages of second participant. If you have more than two participants, please register and pay for any additional persons.

Artemis Girls

Fall & Spring Session Dates: TBD

Time: Fridays 4:00PM-5:30PM

Artemis Girls Stand Strong, Stand Tall is a Girls Empowerment Program that guides girls ages 10-13 to seek their own true voice with yoga, mindfulness, breath work, creative expression and self-reflection. The program meets weekly in a 90 minute session for six weeks. 

When girls feel confident about their bodies, their self-worth and their intelligence and they have practiced how to handle self-doubt and adolescent stresses, they have an opportunity to go into the world and fully express themselves — as girls, as women, as humans.

Artemis Girls Stand Strong, Stand Tall creates a safe space for girls to build strength of body, mind and spirit while developing the skills of communication and self-respect to empower and inspire girls.

Classes will include weekly yoga and mindfulness class, group collaboration and games and independent thinking coupled with an art, journal or other creative activity centered on themes such as:

  • Body Confidence and Self-Respect

  • Stress & Self-Care

  • Emotional Awareness

  • Identity & Labels

  • Honest, Healthy Friendships & Social Stamina

Artemis Girls - Stand Strong, Stand Tall is an opportunity for girls to build physical and emotional strength, make new friendships and connection, learn more about themselves and practice proven ways to relax and breath when stress or challenges arise. By exploring important life lessons, girls will build both physical and emotional strength and self-esteem while growing compassion and respect for themselves and for others.
